‘The Property Market-What's Happening?
Speaker-Mr.Clive Rook with an Estate Agent's View
from
ROOK MATTHEWS SAYER.
I have a sponge front door ...you can't knock it! The present property market is not a laughing matter for many people. Some people are really suffering. Northern Rock is at the heart of our North East economy and repossessions have increased significantly by them as they seek to re coup some of the Tax Payers' money. Madness sung a song called ‘Our House' Is the present situation Madness? (I love the joke ‘What is the first sign of Madness?....Suggs walking down the Driveway! You have to know Suggs is the lead singer of Madness).Anyway come and have a conversation about this very serious and topical subject.
The context of the briefing is the consideration of the issues linked with the present and future prosperity of our City and Region. We consider the challenges and values that lie behind them. The issue we have chosen for this particular Breakfast Conversation is very much part of the present debate for all of us, ‘The Property Market'. Our current crisis is often linked to the Housing Market and borrowing for mortgages etc. Mr Clive Rook is a very experienced Estate Agent and he will speak about the current situation and his view of the future for us all. Perhaps we can discuss and debate: Who caused the problem? or What caused the problem? What does the future hold? How are we affected in this Region? How is Commercial Property fairing? Are there any winners?
We hold our Breakfast Conversations at Northern Counties Club, Hood Street, Newcastle upon Tyne. The cost is £10.00.Format: 7.30 .am. Full English breakfast. Speaker 8.00 a.m. Conversation 8.20 a.m. with a prompt finish at 9 a.m.
