More Things to do to ecourage After Sunday in your church
Here are some more ideas of things you could do to encourage After Sunday in your church:
- ‘What will you be doing at 11 tomorrow?’- slot for personal reflections during services
- Interviews with people about their work and the challenges they face
- Have a Work Sunday where people come to work wearing their work clothes and bring an item from work to offer
- Put up a notice board with photos of people at work, hobbies, etc
- Suggest a sermon /series about work in its broadest sense
- Set up an After Sunday networks at work / after work e.g. in the pub to get people together to talk about faith and work issues
- Organise visits to different workplaces for interested groups
- Organise a ‘Have you seen a Burning Bush Course?’
- Introduce After Sunday discussion ideas into House Groups / Cell Groups
- Organise talks / discussions on various ethical issues - genetics, environment, drug problems, family breakdown, social exclusion, etc See Hot topics or ideas
- Put articles in the Parish Magazine about faith and work and the jobs people do and issues they face
- Identify those going through significant change at work and find ways to support them at least in prayer
- Organise some sessions on Coping with Stress, Work Life balance, Handling Conflict, Building Better Relationships, Handling Change
- Organise a group discussion about Meeting God in Daily Work and Life
- Set up a ‘dispersed church' prayer diary that prays for the issues the ‘dispersed' church faces
- Introduce those interested in spirituality and faith, but rarely come to church, to the After Sunday website and get them involved in something
