Could you be a local After Sunday Contact?
After Sunday aims to build up a network of like-minded enthusiasts in parishes and congregations anywhere. If you are excited by the After Sunday vision and want to support it then we would like you to join in with After Sunday.
After Sunday is not an alternative on-line Church. There are many good examples of those around for example www.i-church.org which is an initiative of the Diocese of Oxford.
We want to encourage people to be part of their own locally based gathered church communities. We are trying to help and encourage people to be the church dispersed in the world.
We believe passionately in the importance of the church as it gathers together. We have learned that it is by learning from and connecting with our After Sunday living that the church gathered can become even more vibrant and relevant.
What's involved in being a local After Sunday Contact?
If you were to become an After Sunday Contact we would be pleased if you could do some of the following things:
- Promote the aims of After Sunday in your own congregation.
- Publicise After Sunday in your Parish Magazines or Newsletters. We will supply suitable materials and interesting articles
- Encourage the use of After Sunday courses like ‘Have you Seen a Burning Bush' to explore Vocation for All
- Encourage the use of ideas / materials in worship that helped to make a better connection between Sunday and Monday see worship resources
- Encourage a focus on what people do in their 'dispersed' church lives, sharing information about what people do during the week and the challenges they face so they can be supported by the 'gathered' church.
- Share ideas with After Sunday of things that you are doing to promote a better connection between faith, work and the world.
How do I become an After Sunday local Contact?
You will find when you register on the After Sunday website you are invited to complete a profile in which there is a place to indicate your willingness to be involved and which parish / congregation you belong to.
